  • The beloved Boba Fett character has seen a resurgence in popularity with his own show, The Book of Boba Fett.

One incredible Star Wars cosplayer stole the show at FAN EXPO Philadelphia with an unbelievable pixel Boba Fett suit he built and hand-painted himself. FAN EXPO Philadelphia took place over Star Wars Day weekend, and the event saw a number of amazing cosplays as well as actors from across Star Wars movies and TV shows, including Hayden Christensen and Rosario Dawson. However, this retro, impressively unique Boba Fett cosplay stood out even at such a star-studded event.

The cosplay, posted on TikTok by starwarswritergirl, was worn and created by dan_cattell_art with assistance from objectorientedprops, who added the rangefinder servo. The cosplay is constructed of flat pieces, allowing the wearer to turn and be covered by the suit.

If the cosplay alone wasn’t impressive enough, following FAN EXPO Philadelphia, former MythBusters co-host Adam Savage took to his own Instagram to post his interaction with the cosplayer.

This cosplay shows just how beloved Boba Fett remains in the Star Wars franchise as well, including in his most recent appearances.

Boba Fett has changed drastically since his canon introduction in The Empire Strikes Back, and the most significant retcons happened recently.

Boba Fett has Had An Incredible Star Wars Arc

Boba Fett was introduced as something of a villain in the original trilogy, as a bounty hunter who was employed by Darth Vader to help him hunt down Luke Skywalker. Notably, Boba Fett’s impressive yet fearsome abilities were made quite clear when Vader had to instruct him that there were to be “no disintegrations.” Although Star Wars doesn’t really elaborate upon why Boba Fett required that specific instruction, the suggestion of such an event was horrifying enough. At the time, though, Boba Fett was not exactly a major character; his popularity came as a bit of a surprise, in fact.

Since then, Boba Fett has become even more prominent. In Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Boba Fett’s origins as an unaltered clone of Jango Fett (thought to be the only one like him at the time, although Star Wars: The Bad Batch proved that to be untrue with Omega) were revealed. After watching his father die in Attack of the Clones, Boba Fett began his life as a bounty hunter, which Star Wars: The Clone Wars explored in greater detail. This plot was particularly fascinating, as it explored Boba Fett as a grieving child.

Star Wars then surprised viewers yet again by bringing Boba Fett back seemingly from the dead in his own show, The Book of Boba Fett. Fett had fallen into the Sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi, which seemed to spell his death, but he became one of Star Wars’ many miraculous resurrections with his new show. While it remains to be seen whether his Star Wars story is now truly over, it’s clear that Boba Fett remains a beloved Star Wars character, and this unbelievable cosplay reflects that beautifully.
