Galactus actor Ralph Ineson becomes The Fantastic Four‘s Devourer of Worlds in an epic piece of fan art made by a Marvel fan. The latest in The Fantastic Four‘s casting news has been that of Ralph Ineson as the colossal cosmic entity Galactus. This announcement follows the confirmation that actors John Malkovich and Paul Walter Hauser are also joining Matt Shakman’s upcoming The Fantastic Four in mystery roles. With Julia Garner set to play the Silver Surfer, it seems like Marvel’s First Family is gearing up to fight their biggest enemy right from the get-go.

Only one day after Ralph Ineson’s casting as Galactus was announced, artist and Marvel fan Venomhology shared an artwork depicting Ineson as the Devourer of Worlds. The image follows the same retro art style seen in official The Fantastic Four artwork released by Marvel Studios, which suggests that The Fantastic Four will take place in the 1960s. How Ralph Ineson’s Galactus Will Be Brought To Live In The Fantastic Four

The Marvel Villain Could Be Created Through Motion Capture Like Thanos

Eighteen years before The Fantastic Four‘s release, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer featured Galactus’ controversial live-action debut. However, the cosmic entity was depicted as a cosmic cloud, meaning that no actor played or voiced the Devourer of Worlds. Almost two decades later, the MCU will fix Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer‘s disservice to Galactus, beginning with an actor who will portray him as a fully fledged character. To achieve it, The Fantastic Four can either use Ralph Ineson’s voice exclusively, or employ motion-capture technology so the actor can fully embody the villain.

Newest Fantastic Four Casting News Could Bring The Team’s Oldest Villain To Life For The First Time In 63 Years

One of Marvel Comics’ original villains has never been adapted into live-action, but Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four may be about to change that.

The former option would entail a fully animated Galactus, similarly to the villain’s fellow cosmic entities, the Celestials in the MCU’s Eternals. But since Josh Brolin’s Thanos performance was a central factor in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame‘s massive success, The Fantastic Four is more likely to exploit Ralph Ineson’s facial and corporal performance to its full potential. In fact, Ineson could be present on set alongside the rest of The Fantastic Four‘s cast. This would allow Ineson to inform his performance through his real-life, physical interactions with other actors.

Ralph Ineson has already played a motion-capture CGI character in the past: the titular character in the 2021 epic fantasy
The Green Knight

Ralph Ineson’s booming voice alone presents an immense improvement over Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer‘s inaccurate Galactus adaptation. However, incorporating the actor’s likeness and performance into the role would likely take The Fantastic Four‘s Devourer of Worlds to the next level. While Galactus isn’t usually an expressive character in the source material, a certain degree of humanity in the villain’s demeanor could add some much-needed nuance to his search for nourishment, as well as the inevitable confrontation with the Fantastic Four that this quest entails.
