Released in 2007, the animated Pixar film follows a young rat with expert culinary skills and dreams of becoming a chef at a famous French restaurant who forms an unusual alliance with the restaurant’s hapless garbage boy, Alfredo Linguini, who is also the illegitimate son of the famous chef Auguste Gusteau. The Ratatouille cast includes Patton Oswalt as the voice of Remy and Lou Romano as Alfredo Linguini.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, a video shared by @DrumsyOfficial brings all of Remy’s delicious-looking dishes to life for an epic full-course feast. Watch the video below:

Accompanying the video, the caption reads, “My girlfriend surprised me by making every dish that Remy eats in my favorite Pixar movie Ratatouille. TOP TIER BIRTHDAY GIFT @Bretzielbub.” The dishes include strawberries and cheese, mushroom puffs, Remy’s soup, a charcuterie board, and, of course, Ratatouille.

Every Dish That Remy Cooks In Ratatouille Recreated In The Video

In Ratatouille, Remy’s first synesthetic experiment is, inspired by his late culinary idol Auguste Gusteau, a simple combination of strawberries and cheese. Inspired by the moment in the movie when Remy is roasting a mushroom and cheese skewer on the chimney and gets struck by lightning, the video includes a mushroom puff in place. Since mushrooms don’t actually expand when exposed to flame, electricity, or intense heat, the video uses a puff pasty to create something similar to a gougère.

One of the rat’s most famous dishes, as recreated in the viral video, is Remy’s soup. It’s unclear what Remy actually does to salvage the soup ruined by Linguini, or what the soup actually was in the first place, though the video appears to interpret Remy’s soup as a variation of potage parmentier, a French potato and leek soup. There also appears to be a touch of carrot added to the soup in the video to create a red hue, with some heavy cream drizzled on top.

Well-known wines, Pixar easter eggs, and the real life chef who inspired Gusteau: only foodies will know these secret details. How many did you find?

After some wine and a charcuterie board, the viral video tackles Remy’s pièce de résistance and the film’s eponymous dish – ratatouille. The classic French dish consists of mixed vegetables, with its name being a combination of the French word “rata,” meaning a stew with whole pieces, and the verb “touiller,” meaning to stir, toss, or mix. However, the variation of ratatouille that Remy cooks at the end of the movie, which was recreated in the video, is much closer to confit byaldi, which wins over the snobby food critic, Ego, during the Ratatouille movie ending.
