Denis Villeneuve’s science-fiction epic Dune: Part Two has helped to push the Dune franchise past a significant worldwide box office milestone. The movie is a sequel to Villeneuve’s 2021 movie Dune, and the duology is the third adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel Dune, boasting an all-star cast including Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, and Zendaya. The film opened in the United States on March 1, and expectations were high, following the first movie’s global box office run of $434.8 million.

Dune: Part Two‘s box-office stormed past its own global milestone when it hit the $500 million mark in fewer than 20 days, and has also helped to push Villeneuve’s franchise past an even bigger accomplishment.
