So far, the adventures in the Wizarding World have taken place almost exclusively in live-action. The closest the franchise has gotten to animation thus far is a brief sequence in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, when Hermione recounts the legend of the Resurrection Stone, the Elder Wand, and the Cloak of Invisibility (together, the titular Deathly Hallows). While the franchise hasn’t yet explored a story firmly in the realm of animation or anime, there’s reason to believe it could work.

It remains to be seen whether Harry Potter will ever make the jump to animation, but it certainly seems like it could be a fun new way to explore a beloved franchise.
