This new project is just another feather in the cap for Alan Ritchson, whose role in Reacher has helped launch his career into the stratosphere. Already in 2024, he has appeared in Reacher season 2 and the faith-based movie Ordinary Angels, following his 2023 turn as Aimes in the hit franchise blockbuster Fast X. He doesn’t seem to be slowing down, as War Machine has become just one more title on a long roster of upcoming projects featuring the star.

Ritchson is keeping an unusually busy schedule in the coming months. On top of his commitment to shooting Reacher season 3, he will be starring opposite Henry Cavill in the upcoming Guy Ritchie war movie The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which debuts in theaters on April 19. He is also currently in production on the Kevin James action-comedy Playdate in addition to recently being attached to the Timur Bekmambetov-directed actioner Motor City and the Arnold Schwarzenegger holiday comedy The Man with the Bag.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Alan Ritchson’s long-awaited team-up will unexpectedly be happening in this upcoming Christmas action comedy.

With so many projects in various stages of development, it remains to be seen how long it will take for War Machine to come to fruition. Filming for the Netflix movie will likely have to wait until Reacher season 3 production concludes, at the very least. Depending on how rigorous post-production will be, this could lead to a several-year wait for the new movie, but with so many titles coming in the meantime, Ritchson’s onscreen presence won’t be diminished during that time.
