Tom Holland’s Peter Parker gets overtaken by the Venom symbiote in shocking MCU fan art ahead of the release of Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man 4. Tom Holland has portrayed the MCU’s version of Peter Parker’s Spider-Man since 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, and has since gone on to star in a solo Spider-Man trilogy, dubbed the “Home Trilogy”, and make appearances in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Holland is expected to return in a new trilogy of Spider-Man projects produced by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, which may pit him against some of his most iconic villains, including Kingpin and Venom.

Tom Holland’s next MCU trilogy is set to kick off with Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man 4, which is rumored to already be in development, though it doesn’t yet have a scheduled release date. Dramatic new fan art shared by Bosslogic imagines Peter Parker being enveloped by the Venom symbiote while in its liquid form.

This dark art plays off rumors that Venom may appear in Spider-Man 4, as the symbiote was left in the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home. No Way Home marked Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock’s MCU debut, but it’s unclear what the future holds for Marvel Studios’ Venom.

Along with more Spider-Man 4 and more Spider-Verse on the horizon, there are more movies and shows from the current Spider-Man multiverse coming up.

Venom Is The Perfect Villain For Spider-Man 4

It has been theorized for quite some time that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man would soon bond with the Venom symbiote, receive his iconic black costume, and engage in battle with the legendary Marvel Comics villain. Spider-Man: No Way Home’s mid-credits scene took major steps in setting this highly-anticipated storyline up for the MCU’s future, as Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock was pulled into the MCU by Doctor Strange’s spell, and left a piece of Venom behind when he returned home. Should Spider-Man 4 continue immediately after No Way Home, it would make the most sense for Peter Parker to finally face Venom.

Other villains have been rumored for Spider-Man 4, specifically Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, Kingpin, who is set to become Mayor of New York and begin his crusade against vigilantes such as Daredevil and Spider-Man. However, Marvel Studios is setting up this story very gradually, so, depending on when Spider-Man 4 premieres, it makes sense that this could be saved for a later project. Spider-Man first gained his Venom suit in Marvel Comics’ 1984 Secret Wars event, so it would be great to see the two enemies come together in the lead-up to Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Secret Wars in Phase 6.

Spider-Man Homecoming 4

Spider-Man: Homecoming 4 is the first sequel to the MCU’s Spider-Man trilogy starring Tom Holland as the titular wall-crawler. After wiping his identity for the public’s memory in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker continues his crime-fighting adventures without the aid of Iron Man technology or the support of his former allies.
