Everything We Know About The Mandalorian & Grogu Movie

The Mandalorian’s story will continue with a Star Wars movie. Here’s everything we know about the project, including cast, release, and timeline.

The cameo, shared in a supercut by WDW News Today, shows a transmission for help from Din Djarin and Grogu where the Mandalorian insists that “A battle is brewing, and we can no longer stand in the shadows.” This fits with many of Star Tours’ other transmissions for help, including Ahsoka Tano’s – which sees a New Republic era Ahsoka name-dropping the Rebellion, thus emphasizing Star Tours’ place outside of Star Wars canon. This, however, also ties into Din Djarin’s upcoming story in The Mandalorian & Grogu, particularly where this brewing battle is concerned.

Din Djarin & Grogu Are Preparing For A New Battle

The Mandalorian Duo Will Be A Vital Part Of The Galaxy’s Next Major Conflict

Given the fact that Star Tours focuses on providing assistance to the Rebellion and safely transporting a rebel spy, it could very well be that the battle Din Djarin is referring to is simply the Galactic Civil War – but it could also be referring to Din Djarin and Grogu’s upcoming conflict. The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2 focused heavily on the Empire’s hunt for Grogu, and season 3 focused on the reclamation of Mandalore. The Mandalorian & Grogu, then, will have a brand-new conflict of its own that will no doubt set up the galaxy’s next major battle.

The Ahsoka season 1 ending saw Grand Admiral Thrawn‘s return to the main Star Wars galaxy, which promises that another battle will soon take place. The Mandalorian season 3 ending set up Din Djarin to be a major player in this upcoming conflict against Thrawn, with him now working under-the-table for the New Republic ranger Carson Teva. Considering that Thrawn is aware of Palpatine’s Project Necromancer and seeks to give Commandant Hux time to deliver on it, Din Djarin and Grogu will undoubtedly be a big part of this future battle in various ways.

The Mandalorian & Grogu will likely foreshadow this major conflict by showing how Din and Grogu end up getting even more invested in the fight.

Whether it be them participating in the battle or the Imperial Remnant yet again seeking Grogu and his midi-chlorian rich blood, Din Djarin and Grogu will have to step out of the shadows and fight the battle against Thrawn to save the New Republic and the rest of the galaxy. The Mandalorian & Grogu will likely foreshadow this major conflict by showing how Din and Grogu end up getting even more invested in the fight. Din Djarin‘s Star Tour cameo, then, still has something to offer for his future, even if it is still considered non-canon.

The Mandalorian & Grogu releases in theaters May 22, 2026.
