Although the Star Wars prequel trilogy and The Mandalorian were released decades apart, the meet-up between Katee Sackhoff and Hayden Christensen just goes to show that Star Wars is truly united across the generations. In fact, over the years, actors from different periods from across the Star Wars eras seem to have come in even more contact. Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill and Padmé Amidala actress Natalie Portman also met for the first time very recently, joking about how they were mother and son.

In addition to bringing about some excellent photos and touching moments, these points of connection between actors who represent very different eras throughout Star Wars are demonstrative of one of the best aspects of Star Wars. With Star Wars’ fiftieth anniversary already in the not-so-distant future, it’s clear that the franchise remains relevant and keeps building upon itself in fascinating and successful ways. Many of Star Wars’ upcoming TV shows are certainly proof of that.

Even with The Mandalorian being a much newer Star Wars addition, it has become celebrated and loved, evidenced by the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu movie. Moreover, familiar faces have been welcomed back with open arms, such as Hayden Christensen’s two-part return in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka. It’s truly delightful to see Star Wars actors come together and acknowledge their shared community, and this image between Katee Sackhoff and Hayden Christensen is an excellent example.

The Mandalorian Season 3 Poster

The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian is set after the Empire’s fall and before the First Order’s emergence in the ever-growing Star Wars universe. The series follows the travails of a lone gunfighter named Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic. Acting as the first live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian has become incredibly popular on Disney+, partly due to Mando’s relationship with Grogu, which the internet dubbed “Baby Yoda” upon his introduction in season 1.
