A Michael trailer revealed at CinemaCon features footage recreating the iconic pop star’s life and performances. Directed by Antoine Fuqua, with a script written by John Logan, the upcoming musical biopic chronicles the life and career of the legendary singer and dancer. The cast includes Michael Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, as the pop star, alongside Oscar nominee Colman Domingo, Nia Long, Miles Teller, Laura Harrier, Kat Graham, Larenz Tate, Jessica Sula, Kevin Shinick, and Kendrick Sampson.

At CinemaCon 2024, with SR in attendance, Lionsgate revealed the first trailer for Michael. The footage features Michael Jackson walking a red carpet into a venue and a young Michael Jackson being told he’s special by his mother, played by Nia Long. Michael Jackson performs “Man in the Mirror,” with audiences singing along. There is a lot of Michael Jackson’s iconic looks from various moments in his life — the black-and-white outfit, when he was wearing a black mask, and more.
