A Scary Movie reboot is in the works at Paramount and Miramax. Released in 2000, Scary Movie is directed by Keenan Ivory Wayans and serves as a parody of a host of popular horror movies, particularly Wes Craven’s Scream. The movie was a hit, and it was ultimately followed by four sequels before the franchise seemingly came to an end in 2013.

Moritz is partnering with Paramount to bring the reimagining to life, which is expected to go into production in fall 2024. The reboot is expected to hit theaters in 2025, with no director or actors currently attached.
