Terrifier 3 Casts Its Real Santa Claus, First Look Image Released

Terrifier 3 has now cast the actual Santa Claus. The upcoming slasher sequel will be set on Christmas, eschewing the typical Halloween setting of the previous rampages of its now iconic villain Art the Clown. In addition to Art star David Howard Thornton and writer-director Damien Leone returning for the project, it will also feature Terrifier 2 survivors Lauren LaVera and Elliot Fullam as Sienna and Jonathan Shaw as well as Samantha Scaffidi as Victoria Heyes, a character introduced in the first movie.

Bloody Digusting has now shared an exclusive image of Santa Claus from the upcoming Terrifier 3, who will be played by Daniel Roebuck. Check out the image below:

This news comes as production on the horror sequel wraps. It is unclear how much of the movie will feature the real Santa Claus, though considering the fact that Art the Clown is shown on the poster donning a bloody Santa suit, it’s possible that the mythological figure will be one of the first victims of the bloodthirsty killer at the beginning of the movie, facilitating the rest of his deadly rampage.

The Santa Claus Actor Has A Lot Of Horror Experience

Before joining Terrifier 3‘s Art the Clown onscreen, Roebuck has had a wealth of experience in the horror genre. This includes starring in multiple movies from House of 1,000 Corpses director Rob Zombie and Phantasm director Don Coscarelli. Outside of those directors’ filmographies, he has appeared in horror titles including the 2000 supernatural slasher Final Destination, the 2014 Naya Rivera movie At the Devil’s Door, and the 2023 B-movie Las Vegas Frankenstein.

However, as a prolific character actor who has appeared in more than 200 projects on both the big and small screens, he has a robust catalog of characters outside of the horror genre as well. This includes playing the father of Frankie Muniz in both Agent Cody Banks movies. He has also held several major television roles including playing Arnold Walker in The Man in the High Castle and Dr. Leslie Arzt in Lost.

It’s possible that Roebuck will be pulling from both sides of his resume in order to play another Santa alongside the twisted killer version depicted in the Terrifier 3 trailer. He will probably get a death scene, in which case he will have to draw on his horror experience. However, in order to play a more realistic version of Santa that contrasts with Art the Clown’s version, he will have to draw on his experience in more family-friendly entertainment to really sell the character.
