M3GAN 2.0 has added one of the stars of Disney+’s Ahsoka to the cast. The upcoming movie is a sequel to one of 2023’s biggest horror success stories. The original movie followed roboticist Gemma (Allison Williams) giving her newly orphaned niece Cady (Violet McGraw) a robotic companion named M3GAN whose attempts to protect the girl quickly turn deadly. The movie was a smash hit, earning $181 million worldwide against its $12 million budget, so a sequel was quickly greenlit. The sequel was written by original screenwriter Akela Cooper with original director Gerard Johnstone, who is also in talks to direct.
Per Deadline, the cast of the upcoming M3GAN 2.0 has added its first new character. Ahsoka‘s Ivanna Sakhno has boarded the project in a major role. Details about the character that she will be playing are currently being kept tightly under wraps. She joins a cast that already includes returning stars Allison Williams as Gemma and Violet McGraw as Cady.
Everywhere You’ve Seen Ivanna Sakhno Before M3GAN 2.0
The Star’s Resume Is Much More Than Just Ahsoka.
After beginning her career in projects in her native Ukraine, she began to star in English-language projects in the late 2010s, including
Pacific Rim: Uprising
and
The Spy Who Dumped Me
.
Before joining the hotly anticipated horror sequel M3GAN 2.0, Ivanna Sakhno was perhaps best known for her role as Shin Hati in the Ahsoka cast. Hati, who appeared in seven of the Star Wars spinoff show’s eight episodes, is the apprentice of ex-Jedi Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson). While it has been revealed that season 2 of the show is currently in development, it remains to be seen if she will return, though it seems likely given her integral role in season 1.
M3GAN Ending Explained (In Detail)
M3GAN ends in a way that teases a sequel while wrapping up its storylines. We break down the horror film’s ending, what it all means, & what’s next.
However, before rising to prominence as part of the ensemble of the Star Wars project, Sakhno held quite a few roles in prominent titles. After beginning her career in projects in her native Ukraine, she began to star in English-language projects in the late 2010s, including Pacific Rim: Uprising and The Spy Who Dumped Me. As the 2020s began, she took on several prominent television roles, including starring opposite Zoë Kravitz in two episodes of Hulu’s High Fidelity and opposite Ioan Gruffudd in the miniseries The Reunion.
High Fidelity
was a reimagining of the 2000 John Cusack movie of the same name, which in turn was an adaptation of the Nick Hornby novel of the same name.
In addition to allowing her to join another blockbuster English-language franchise, M3GAN 2.0 will give Sakhno a prime opportunity to show off her range. The actor has so far only dabbled in the horror genre in the under-the-radar movies Can’t Take It Back, The Body Tree, and Let It Snow. By appearing in the sequel to a major hit, she can establish herself much more firmly as an actor with the ability to bring a horrifying story to life.
