Batman has many wickedly evil villains in his catalog that have been brought to life on film but there are a few that are scarier than the rest.

The DC Universe Already Has The Perfect Project To Include Many Of Batman’s Villains

Time will tell who will be the main threat in The Brave and The Bold, but there is another DC Universe project that could be the ideal platform to highlight some of Bruce Wayne’s enemies. The Batman director Matt Reeves is currently developing an Arkham Asylum TV show. It will officially be set in the DC Universe, as Gunn confirmed in late 2023. While exact plot details for Arkham Asylum have yet to be revealed, the Max drama could give many Batman villains a proper spotlight.

Depending on how many episodes the Arkham Asylum spinoff will consist of, each installment could be centered on a different Batman foe, establishing how they became who they are in the DC Universe. Given how Batman will already be operating in this universe in The Brave and The Bold, it is fair to assume that most of his iconic rogues will already be their comic book counterparts at that point. Arkham Asylum could also be the perfect series to introduce some of the minor Batman villains who have yet to be depicted in the movies.

With the rich gallery of characters in the mythology, there are a lot of villains for Arkham Asylum to feature before they make their way into the movie. This is also the type of interconnectivity that would work for the DC Universe, as Gunn and Peter Safran are striving to tell a more cohesive story with the franchise. Hopefully, there will be more news about both The Brave and The Bold and Arkham Asylum over the coming months as DC Studios get ready to re-imagine the Caped Crusader in the world of live-action.

The Brave and the Bold: Batman and Robin in the DC Comics written by Grant Morrison

The Brave and the Bold

The Brave and the Bold is the first Batman movie in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe, which reboots the Dark Knight after Ben Affleck’s take on the character. It introduces Bruce Wayne’s son, the Robin Damian Wayne, and draws inspiration from Grant Morrison’s work on the comic book character.
